Bruno Lambert was born October 2, 1910, in Andernach, Germany, where he was a member of the local sports association. In 1932 he started medical school in Bonn; Nazi authorities allowed him to finish his studies, because Lambert’s father had fought in the German army in WW I. But Bruno Lambert was not allowed to take the State Board exams. He therefore went to Switzerland and immigrated to the United States in 1938, where initially he worked as a housepainter.
